Yesterday Trump called out Democrats’ behavior at his speech last week, where he received much less applause.

“They were like death and un-American. Un-American. Somebody said, ‘Treasonous.’ I mean, yeah, I guess, why not,” Trump said, adding, “Can we call that treason? Why not.”

Today, the White House had to issue a statement saying that Trump was being “tongue in cheek”, which I am sure he was. That doesn’t make it better.

(1) It’s not amusing. I mean, as comedy goes, it just isn’t funny.

(2) Many of Trump’s followers don’t REALIZE he is trying to be amusing.

It just adds to the partisanship — which is ironic since the theme of Trump’s speech was supposed to be about unity.
