Police in Dalton, Georgia say an adult is in custody after reports of shots fired at a high school. The suspect barricaded themselves inside a classroom, police said, and investigators believe the suspect is a teacher. No students were injured. The incident comes days after President Trump called for arming teachers two weeks after a gunman opened fire at a high school in Florida, killing 17 people.
In other gun related news, Trump and the State of Florida are supporting raising the age of gun owners from 18 to 21. And now this:
During an intense and emotional CNN town hall between Florida lawmakers and the survivors of a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a promise: he would support any legislation that would prevent teens from purchasing deadly assault rifles.
“I absolutely believe that in this country, if you are 18 years of age, you should not be able to buy a rifle. I will support a law that takes that right away,” Rubio said, speaking to one victim’s father.
Not in DC though, apparently:
