My, Aren’t We Productive!

Every so often, I come across a statistic that blows my mind.

Today was such a day.  You ready?

Take all the goods and services produced in the world since the year 1 A.D. up to the present day.  The output of goods and services is a rough measure of economic output.

Did you know that almost 25% of all the economic output since 1 A.D was produced in this century, i.e., 2001 to 2010?

That's pretty amazing.  In ten years, the world has produced one-quarter of ALL the economic output since the beginning of time.
