Axios is reporting that the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. to answer questions about his previous testimony before Senate investigators in relation to the Russia investigation.
This is huge and unique as it is REPUBLICANS who lead the committee. It is the first congressional subpoena — that we know about — of one of President Trump’s children.
It also sets up a fight between Senate Republicans and the White House, who has been resisting subpoenas.
NBC News has confirmed, per source with direct knowledge, that the Senate intelligence committee has subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. First reported by @axios They want to ask him about his previous testimony re Trump Tower Moscow, among other things.
