It’s a stampede for the exits. The Hill reports:

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced Wednesday that he will not run for reelection. “There is a time to come and a time to go. This is the right time, for me, to leave politics and return to the justice system,” he said in a statement on Twitter.

Fox News gig coming?

Trey Gowdy spearheaded many of the congressional attacks against Hillary Clinton on the non-existent “Benghazi” scandal, so I am especially glad to see him go.

But seriously, what do these Republicans know that we don’t? Why are they fleeing?
