From a Forbes profile/interview of Glenn Beck:
With a deadpan, Beck insists that he is not political: "I could give a flying crap about the political process." Making money, on the other hand, is to be taken very seriously, and controversy is its own coinage. "We're an entertainment company," Beck says. He has managed to monetize virtually everything that comes out of his mouth.
This isn't the first time we've been told that Beck has suggested he doesn't buy his own shtick. He has described himself as "a rodeo clown" and conceded, "If you take what I say as gospel, you're an idiot."
One wonders what his rabid fans would say if they ever opened their eyes to the fact that they are nothing more than money-making machines for Beck's $32 million a year empire.
Truly, the emporer has no clothes.
